West Coast Canada

Let’s go to Vancouver Island!

If I could describe Vancouver Island in two words it would be rugged beauty. From the stunning rocky coastline with views of the Pacific Ocean to the beauty of the temperate rainforest, Vancouver Island is a year round destination, with something for everyone. We are so lucky to call this place home!

On the southern tip of the East side of the island is Victoria, British Columbia’s capital. Victoria boasts a beautiful inner harbor, Butchart Gardens and the famous Empress hotel. Further north up the east coast is the city of Nanaimo, where chocolate and custard Nanaimo bars came from. It is known as “The Harbour City” with a beautiful harbour, cool downtown and a mountainous backdrop. Further up the coast from Nanaimo is Parksville, a low key beautiful resort community with large sandy beaches and warm water. Many locals go there for their summer vacation and there’s lots of activities for kids.

On the West side of the island we have Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, a 511 square km park that houses the famous West Coast Trail. Further north is Ucluelet and Tofino, small surfing, fishing and whale watching towns with excellent hiking and great local eats.
